Man arrested for trying to sell gold jewellery
A forty-year old man was arrested yesterday in a small town near Birmingham. The man was trying to sell gold at a flea market. He had stolen several items of jewellery from inhabitants of the nearby villages. There were gold necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings and brooches in his collection. He had stolen the jewellery at beaches, shopping centres and directly from people"s houses. The police had been looking for him for over three months. He was walking in the crowd at one of the flea markets, trying to sell gold to the passers-by. A woman called the police because she noticed that the man was trying to sell a pair of gold rings that had been stolen from her the day before. The police arrived at the place ten minutes later. The man was immediately arrested. At the police station, it turned out that his appearance matched the description that some of the witnesses had previously given. He was accused of stealing several items of gold and silver jewellery, breaking into two houses in the neighbourhood and stealing a car. It was pure coincidence that the woman who called the police saw the man trying to sell gold earrings that actually belonged to her. Now, the accused is waiting for his trail in one of the local prisons.
